In an ever-globalising world, ensuring our current decisions are not detrimental to future generations is becoming increasingly important. Sustainability is a 21st century buzzword.
However, with such a diverse range of sustainability careers, it can be difficult to know where to start searching, and how to make a tangible difference within our future professional lives.
Three wonderful speakers from various Sustainability backgrounds, to discuss their journeys into Sustainability, and share honest advice about how to succeed and make an impact in the sector.
The panelists are:
Rishi Gupta: Zero Waste Club and Gomi Designs, CEO
Sustainability entrepreneur Rishi Gupta co-founded Zero Waste Club & Gomi Design while studying at UCL and Imperial College London. Rishi is the CEO of Zero Waste Club, which aims to power the future of sustainable FMCG consumption, focusing on the use of sustainable and waste material to bring affordability to sustainable everyday products. Rishi is also the CEO of Gomi Design, which uses non-recyclable plastic waste material to produce circular consumer technology products.
– Nicola Stopps: Simply Sustainable, CEO
Nicola Stopps is founder and CEO of Simply Sustainable, an award-winning sustainability strategy and integration consultancy based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Nicola is committed to creating commercially sound policy to ‘Build Back Better’, ready for a new, brighter, low carbon economy in which, no one is left behind. Nicola was recently awarded the Fellowship of IEMA.
– Iona Neilson: Formula E, Sustainability Manager
Iona Neilson is the Sustainability Manager at Formula E, the world’s first fully-electric single-seater racing series. Iona studied Geography at the University of Plymouth with a Certificate of Industrial Placement, recognising her year in the industry with McDonald’s UK and Costa Coffee in their respective Sustainability/Energy and Environment teams to drive their sustainability ambition. She has also featured as a member of the Inaugural Edie 30 under 30 Young Sustainability Leaders Club in 2019.
