How does it work?
We curate a community lunch, headline events, and activities linked to the Reading Climate Action Plan. The rest of the programme is hosted by YOU; community groups, local businesses, schools, and creative individuals.
This annual festival is a growing expression of the kind of town many people want to live in - healthier, happier, more connected to nature and each other, more creative and more climate-friendly.

1: Call for Event Proposals
Deadline: 5 March 2027
We will publish a formal Call for Event Proposals in late 2026. This is your chance to submit event ideas for the Reading Climate Festival 2027 programme.
2: Curating the Programme
Lots and lots of logistics
It takes at least 6 weeks to turn your ideas into a final programme; real dates, times, places, event descriptions and registration pages. We want to finalise the programme earlier this year to improve marketing lead times.
3: Spreading the word
Everyone can help
Local organisations, influencers and journalists can help drive engagement in the programme...and Reading's response to the climate and nature emergency. Every year we aim to engage new people in new ways!
