An Introduction
Fuel purchased for the organisation’s own fleet are relatively easy to measure and manage, however outsourced transport and use of staff vehicles for company travel and commuting are also part of the picture.
COVID-19 has disrupted business travel and normalised new ways of working and meeting that don’t rely on moving from one place to another. This prompts us to reconsider how much travel is really necessary in order to operate, and to think about which coronavirus adaptations are worth retaining even when they are no longer necessary. There are also opportunities to re-examine the modes of transport we use, along with alternative vehicle technologies.
